Forget Romy and Michelle, Patsy and Edina, and Bill and Ted. Meet Fiona and Jules. The After After Party girls is one of the funniest and most creative shows you will see at this year’s Vancouver Fringe Festival.

Last seen at the SHIFT 1-Act Festival in 2014, Fiona and Jules are the brainchild of Katey Hoffman and Cheyenne Mabberley. Teenage misfits, the two are simply looking to fit in. Never making the invite list, they spend much of their time seeking out, and eventually crashing the “cool kids” parties each weekend.

In this latest installment, Fiona and Jules find themselves once again looking for the after after party. Problem is they are having a tough time remembering what has already happened at the pre-party, the party and the after party.  Snorting Ritalin (and eventually inserting it up their asses for an extra push), the two go back in time to find out what got them to this point in the evening.  What they discover are a bevy of funny, awkward, crude, rude and bizarre moments that are at times laugh-out-loud funny.

Beneath the laughs though is an undercurrent of real friendship, and a nod to all the freaks, geeks, and nerds that endured high school on the fringe.

Under Kayvon Kelly’s direction there is little time for these two to breathe. An almost maniacal energy keeps the show moving at a blistering pace.

I called Hoffman and Mabberley comedy goddesses back in 2014.  I am even more in awe of their skills in this new iteration. The best of the fest.

There are only a couple more opportunities to see these two in action. Given the sold-out house last night I suggest you get your tickets now.

Thursday, September 15 @ 8:15pm
