Tell us about Chase Breyer: Part Time Substitute Teacher, Full Time Canadian Super-Spy.

Chase Breyer: Part Time Substitute Teacher, Full-Time Canadian Super-Spy is the James Bond of Canadian politics. The show’s timeline begins in October 2015, eight days before the Canadian elections. Super-spy Chase Breyer is summoned to crash the Conservative Party Gala Fundraiser and save fellow Canadian spy, Celine Dion.  Soon our hero discovers that Stephen Harper has built a Death Star powered by the word “sorry.”  This loving send-up of action movies is performed live on stage by Rod Peter Jr.

Describe your show in three words.

Live-action film.

Why should someone come to see your show?

Similar to how Marvel comics has the ‘Marvel Universe’ of shows, our theatre company SNAFU is building the ‘SNAFU Universe’ of fringe shows. Other fringe shows in the SNAFU Universe include Little Orange Man, Interstellar Elder: Badass Grandma in Space, and Kitt & Jane: An Interactive Survival Guide to the Near-Post-Apocalyptic Future. SNAFU’s newest show Chase Breyer is a loving send-up of action films, complete with 3D glasses, ending credits and a bonus scene after the clapping ends.

If your show was a superhero which superhero would it be, and why?

Bond … not really a superhero but close enough.  Magic Bond.  That sounds like fancy glue.

If you could see only one show at the Vancouver Fringe Festival this year, besides your own, what show would that be?

Anything by Mind of Snail shadow puppetry. They are the best.
