In a media release, the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame has announced thirteen new inductees to its roster in 2019, in recognition of their significant contribution to our province’s entertainment industry and cultural landscape.

Joining over 275 previous recipients, these new inductees from the world of music, dance, theatre, film, and television, are divided into two categories: StarWalk & Pioneers.

Among the 2019 StarWalk inductees is Juno Award-winning musician Colin James, who first got his break at age 18 opening for Stevie Ray Vaughan. James went onto tour with Vaughan before recording his self-titled debut album in 1988, and a career that has spanned three decades. Now living in Vancouver, James recorded latest album “Miles To Go” in 2018, for which he took home multiple trophies at this year’s Maple Blues Awards.

Joining James is award-winning film, television, and stage actress Karin Konoval. A multiple Jessie Award-winning actress for her work on Vancouver theatre stages, Konoval more recently received a 2018 UBCP/ACTRA award for her guest star role in the television show The X- Files. Her extensive screen credits include the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy, plus roles in many other film and television series.

Other StarWalk recipients this year are Ballet BC’s artistic director Emily Molnar, composer and musician Bob Buckley, media personality Nardwuar, Emmy Award-winning producer and actress Moira Walley-Beckett, musician Rick Scott, and jazz vocalist Joani Taylor.

StarWalk inductees are recognized with a featured star on the Walk of Fame on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver and on the StarWall Gallery at the Orpheum Theatre.

This year’s Pioneer Star inductees, recognized for having left “an indelible mark on BC’s entertainment landscape” are producer and writer Jeff Groberman, actress Anna Hagan, 1940’s entertainers The Crump Twins, concert promoter Mel Warner, and actor Terrance Kelly.

Pioneer Star members are acknowledged on the Honour Plaque in the Orpheum lobby.
