Just in time for the Halloween season, the Ghost Bros (aka Abdul Aziz and Shawn O’Hara) are going digital with a brand-new comic adventure through the streets of Vancouver’s Gastown.
A hit at the 2018 Vancouver Fringe Festival, Fake Ghost Tours took audiences on a comedic walking tour of Granville Island’s most haunted locations. A sell-out at the time, the free digital Gastown edition will ensure no one will miss out.
“The hardest part for us running the live shows was how many people we had to turn away,” says Aziz in a media release. “Sometimes people who showed up to three or four different shows never got to see it.”
In this latest version, audiences can use their mobile devices to participate in a walking tour of Vancouver’s historic neighbourhood, anytime, at their own pace, with whomever they like.
“Technology has changed how people consume entertainment, and walking tours are no exception,” says O’Hara. “One day I hope to do all my walking online.”
Narrated by the self-described “lovably delusional ghost hunting twin brothers”, the tour promises to share the absurd and supernatural past of this trendy, yet historic, neighborhood.
With tongue firmly planted in cheek, the duo goes onto say the digital walking tour will teach honorary ghost hunters about the spirits that lurk around every corner, behind every dumpster, and in every artisanal hat store on this 100% “accurate and legitimate” walking tour of Gastown’s most “haunted” locations.
