With temperatures plummeting, and even more snow forecast in the next couple of days, its probably a good thing this year’s JFL NorthWest Block Party will once again feature free coffee and hot chocolate from Tim Hortons, along with the free entertainment.

Taking place at šxʷƛ̓exən Xwtl’a7shn (formerly the QET Plaza) on Friday, February 15 from 5:00pm-10:00pm, and again on Monday February 18 from 5:00pm-8:00pm, the JFL NorthWest Block Party will feature Just For Laughs classic TV stand-up specials and musical guests.

Kicking off the Block Party on February 15 will be German actor, musician, comedian, and DJ, Flula Borg (aka DJ Flula), who will also appear in the Howie Mandel & Friends show the night before at the Orpheum. Also on stage that same night are Sophia Danai and Adrienne featuring Drix.

On February 18, Kevin McLachlin’s Flight of the Conchords tribute, Coldwater Road, and Ruploops will take to the stage.

New this year, JFL Northwest will also present two Pop Up Parties on February 14 & 19 in Ackery’s Alley, the newly created pedestrian alley on the north side of the Orpheum Theatre.

From 5:00pm to 8:00pm on February 14, live music will be provided by Adam Bailie, Chersea, and DJ O Show. On February 19, the show runs 5:30pm to 9:30pm with free music by The New Shackletons and Derek Pitts. Plus, the team behind Fake Ghost Tours will leave from the site every hour, on the hour.

With support from Creative BC and The Province of British Columbia, through the Amplify BC fund, JFL NorthWest has also introduced 25+ live musical performances at select shows taking place at the Vogue, the Rio, VanCity Theatre and The Fox.

JFL NorthWest runs at various locations around Vancouver February 14-23. Visit for tickets and information.
