With over 100 improv actors from 18 countries, Vancouver TheatreSports is literally bringing the world to our city as it hosts the 2019 edition of the International Theatresports Institute Conference and Festival.
Taking place at venues across Granville Island until October 20, the festival includes more than fifty public performances in a celebration of the improv art form.
Many of the shows will demonstrate the unique way in which improvisers from other countries have expanded the improv format. Case-in-point is the El Jaguar Fiesta Tour, where audiences are invited on a bus for a tour of the city with masked Mexican luchador El Jaguar.
In this Facebook Live event, Vancouver Presents’ contributing editor Mark Robins was at The Improv Centre on Granville Island to find out more from Festival’s co-artistic director Jeff Gladstone. El Jaguar also stopped by for an interview that quickly spiralled hilariously out-of-control.
