Australia’s Gravity & Other Myths are back in Vancouver with their brand new show, Backbone.
Last seen during their sold out show A Simple Space at The Cultch’s York Theatre in 2015, the contemporary circus company moves to the much bigger Vancouver Playhouse for their newest show.
In Backbone, ten of the world-class acrobats from Gravity & Other Myths take the stage in a show that promises even more astonishing stunts than in 2015.
Literally thrown back and forth, and in every direction, they toss themselves headfirst into unthinkable configurations; their bodies unimaginable building blocks as they challenge the various perceptions of what strength is, where it comes from and how it is measured.
Vancouver Presents contributing editor Mark Robins went inside the Vancouver Playhouse as the company warmed up for opening night to get a sneak peek and to learn more from Jascha Boyce, one of the founders of Gravity & Other Myths.
Backbone plays the Vancouver Playhouse (600 Hamilton St, Vancouver) until November 4. You can get tickets and more information at thecultch.com.
