Arts Umbrella Dance Company’s season finale is the culmination of months of exploration and rehearsal of created for the dancers by international and Canadian choreographers.

Following months of rehearsal, the Arts Umbrella Dance Company is ready to show off what they have learned with its season finale, Be Moved.

Featuring creations by international, Canadian, and local Vancouver choreographers, Be Moved will give audiences a chance to see work that is rarely performed in Canada.

One of the many highlights this year is an excerpt to be performed of a new work by Vancouver’s Crystal Pite, which will go on to be part of her premiere with the Paris Opera Ballet in their 2020 season.

Vancouver Presents contributing editor Mark Robins was live on Granville Island for a sneak peek as the company rehearsed, plus an interview with artistic director Artemis Gordon and dancer Zack Preece.

Be Moved plays the Vancouver Playhouse May 23-25. Visit artsumbrella.com for tickets and information.
