Following their sold-out show at last year’s PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, Vancouver contemporary dance artists Delia Brett and Daelik are back with their latest work, We are by which we are moved in return.
This new work, created and performed by the two co-artistic directors of Vancouver’s MACHiNENOiSY, reflects their roots in contact dance, and their interest in both materiality and scenographic design.
According to the artists: “Influenced by radical new inquiries in the fields of science, feminism and cultural theory, We are by which we are moved in return considers humanity in the age of the anthropocene and asks the question: can we re-vision our relationships to the material world before it’s too late?”
Vancouver Presents’ contributing editor Mark Robins was live in the rehearsal room with the two dancers to find out more.
We are by which we are moved in return plays Studio D at SFU Woods (149 West Hastings St, Vancouver) June 11-15. Visit machinenoisy.com for tickets and information.
