Ce qu’on attend de moi
May 25, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 8:00 pm, repeating until May 25, 2019
Théâtre la Seizième ends its 2018–2019 season with Ce qu’on attend de moi, a daring and
poetic play created by Philippe Cyr and Gilles Poulin-Denis.
Who hasn’t ever dreamed of leaving their life behind, hitting the reset button, and starting over? In Ce qu’on attend de moi, this is the journey you are invited to take part in. Drawing freely from the subject matter of neurobiologist Henri Laborit’s book Éloge de la fuite, Philippe Cyr and Gilles Poulin-Denis have written a part for an audience member.
Ce qu’on attend de moi, a hybrid work that is purely neither theatre nor film, explores the universal character of feelings and leads us on an encounter with the Other. It’s an original experience that pays tribute to the beauty and diversity of human emotions.
In the play Ce qu’on attend de moi, a volunteer from the audience becomes an actor in the show and gets immersed in a surprising stage environment. Two cameramen follow him or her on this adventure, filming images that are shown live to the audience—which is gathered in the open air under a canopy. Every night, simultaneous translation into English is offered, so everyone can get immersed in this unique performance.
