Vancouver’s newest string quartet features four astonishing musicians: Timothy Steeves & Jae-Won Bang, violins; Marina Thibeault, viola; and Jonathan Lo, cello. Together, they are the Capilano String Quartet.
When the Capilano String Quartet members were asked what audiences will feel when listening to their music making, they said the performance will reveal the nature of suffering and music’s ability to heal, unite, and transform one’s self. Together, Juri Seo’s Respiri, Raven Chacon’s The Journey of Horizontal People, and Grieg’s String Quartet No. 1, Op.27 are pieces of music that take you on an introspective musical journey.
