Recognized as one of the world’s preeminent guitarists specializing in the style of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Wrembel performs with special guest opener, jazz pianist Jean-Michel Pilc.
With an esteemed career spanning over 2 decades, Wrembel’s original compositions have graced films such as Midnight in Paris, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and Rifkin’s Festival – with Midnight in Paris earning a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack, which included Wrembel’s composition Bistro Fada.
Wrembel has shared the stage with iconic artists like Elvis Costello, Patti Smith, The Roots and many more. His annual music festival, Django A Gogo, has gained global recognition as a premier event celebrating Django Reinhardt’s music.
Opening act jazz pianist Jean-Michel Pilc is acclaimed for his improvisational prowess. He has performed alongside jazz legends worldwide and served as the musical director and pianist for Harry Belafonte.
The repertoire for this show will include selections from Stephane’s most recent release, Triptych: Phase I, II and III, which was recorded with Jean-Michel Pilc.
