Drew Miller's Live @ The Apt comes to Vancouver

Forget comedians in cars, how about comedians in apartments (who may or may not drink coffee)?  That is the concept behind Drew Miller’s Live @ The Apt webseries that began by featuring New York’s best up-and-coming comedians and is expanding to Canada with a Vancouver Main Street shoot on November 21.

[pullquote]“Live @ The Apt: Vancouver is sure to be a great addition to the Live @ The Apt family,” – Jameson Parker, co-founder of Whiskaye Films. [/pullquote]Making the connection with Miller at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal during a recent trip to promote their own webseries Hardly Men, Vancouver’s Whiskaye Films will shoot the episode at an undisclosed apartment on Main Street.

“We have a great host lined up with Matthew Clark, creator of the hit web-series Convos With My 2 Year Old and some great up-and-coming Canadian comedians on board including Ivan Decker, recently named funniest comedian in Canada under 30, and Katie-Ellen Humphries,” says Whiskaye Films co-founder Jameson Parker.

Originally created by Miller as an intimate show for friends in his tiny New York apartment, Live @ The Apt has steadily grown into a monthly underground stand-up show featuring some of New York’s best up-and-coming comedians performing in apartments all across the city.  And while the series quickly grew to include larger venues like rooftops in Brooklyn and lofts in Tribeca and Chinatown, this is the first time the series has ventured outside the New York area.

Live @ The Apt: Vancouver is sure to be a great addition to the Live @ The Apt family,” says Parker. “For those that miss the live show, all the stand-up content will also be available on the Live @ The Apt YouTube channel alongside clips from hilarious comedians like Saturday Night Live’s Sasheer Zamata and Comedy Central’s Ben Kronberg.”
