Disney On Ice: Mickey’s Search Party

Mickey’s Search Party skates into the Pacific Coliseum later this month, as Disney On Ice presents a brand new immersive ice skating experience designed to bring audiences closer to the action than ever before.

With a mix of ice skating athleticism, acrobatics, and aerial stunts, audiences embark on a quest with Mickey Mouse and pals as they follow Captain Hook’s treasure map for clues to find Tinker Bell after he attempts to capture her magic.

Here are five things you should know about Disney On Ice presents Mickey’s Search Party:

1. Up-close and interactive

Moving beyond the ice, audiences will become part of the story with character interaction and audience participation.

2. Disney favourites

There are approximately 45 performers in the production and 40 Disney characters featured in the show from such beloved Disney tales as Coco, Aladdin, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, and Moana.

3. More than just figure skating

Traditional figure skating choreography is the mainstay but the show also includes aerial stunts, acrobatics, adagio pair skating, and even some hoverboard tricks.

4. Bright lights

Projection mapping helps to set the stage for the worlds of the Disney stories. Using 12 projectors and approximately 31,000 Lumens, it is equal in brightness to about 186 classroom projectors.

5. Bling bling

Hundreds of thousands of Swarovski crystals are set by hand on the approximately 173 costumes used in the show.
