Winter Celebrations returns to New Westminister’s Anvil Centre with a cornucopia of free entertainment for the whole family.

Happening now through January 5, the venue will come alive with the sounds of the season with a range of events and performances by professional artists, singers and musicians.

In addition to the five highlighted performances below, there are daily performances and activities for families throughout the day.

1. Festivus for the NewWest of Us

On Friday, December 20 local comics, authors, and other celebrities “air their grievances” about the pressures of Christmas and it’s commercialism.

2. Maple Leaf Singers

Vancouver show chorus the Maple Leaf Singers perform on December 21 in a show featuring a variety of music genres and complete with choreography.

3. The Kerplunks

Canadian children’s entertainers The Kerplunks perform on December 22 in their high-energy show including their original tunes guaranteed to get the kids joining in on the fun.

4. The Sojourners

Singers Marcus Mosely, Will Sanders and Khari McClelland combine as The Soujouners on December 29 for an evening of gospel music with soul.

5. The Blues Berries

Another one for the kids, The Blues Berries performs January 4 using children’s topics such as learning the alphabet, recycling, and bullying and blends them with bluesy beats.

Winter Celebrations at the Anvil Centre (777 Columbia St, New Westminster) continues until January 5 (closed December 24, 25 & January 1).
