Here are five shows we are most excited about this week on Vancouver stages:
UBC Theatre & Film presents The Wolves (until Feb 11), chronicling the lives of a girl’s soccer team as they chat about everything from genocide to menstrual cycles to drugs to boys to literature.
The students of Studio 58 take to Granville Island’s Waterfront Theatre for its annual musical, A Chorus Line (until Feb 19), offering a glimpse into the lives of Broadway performers as they audition for the role of a lifetime.
The Shadbolt Centre For the Arts presents queer feminist singer-songwriter, guitarist and folk icon Ferron (Feb 10) alongside Chris Nordquist on drums, Darryl Havers on keyboards and Jami Sieber on electric cello.
The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra presents Edith Piaf Symphonique (Feb 10 & 11), a concert of Edith Piaf’s greatest hits brought to life by actress and singer Nathalie Lermitte.
Vancouver Opera continues its 2022-2023 season with the company premiere of British composer Benjamin Britten’s romantic and atmospheric opera A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Feb 11, 16 & 19).
