Music on Main and the Redshift Music Society are seeking 100 electric guitarists

At first glance it may sound like a world record attempt, but Vancouver’s Music on Main and the Redshift Music Society are not looking for a spot in the Guinness book. They are looking for 100 electric guitar players to perform 100 Very Good Reasons Why _____ for 100 electric guitars.

An Instruments of Happiness creation from Canadian composer and guitarist, Tim Brady, 100 Very Good Reasons Why _____ will bring together 100 amateur and professional electric guitar players, of varying ages and backgrounds. The project will culminate with two free public performances at The Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre in Vancouver on November 6.

“We welcome guitarists of all backgrounds to audition for this community-building project,” say organizers.

Auditions will take place on Sunday, August 11 and is open to electric guitar players of all ages. Complete information on audition requirements, as well as information on rehearsal and performance dates can be found on the Music On Main website at http://www.musiconmain.ca.
