Presentation House goes outside

The Lakeside Players return to the Presentation House Theatre grounds with an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas's classic swashbuckling novel, The Three Musketeers.

The Lakeside Players return to the Presentation House Theatre grounds in North Vancouver this summer with another outdoor adventure, an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s classic swashbuckling novel, The Three Musketeers.

The problem is only two actors have shown up, with Jack Rennie and Manon Ens-Lapoint picking up the slack of what was supposed to be a large-cast enactment by playing upwards of 20 characters each.

In this version, two stories unfold: the story of D’Artagnan and the Musketeers and two actors attempting to pull off the show after their third cast member bails at the last minute.

“Last summer, I loved watching families gather to sit on blankets and picnic chairs on our lawn, sharing snacks and laughing at the hilarious, slightly-irreverent storytelling from the Lakeside Players, and so I can’t wait to have them back again,” says Presentation House general manager Andrea Loewen. “Their two-actor adaptation of The Three Musketeers is one of the funniest I’ve seen, and I love the way they incorporate the outdoor environment into their work.”

The Three Musketeers plays outside at Presentation House Theatre (333 Chesterfield Ave, North Vancouver) from July 21-30. Visit phtheatre.org for tickets and information.
