Get ready for some big sounds and even bigger hair as Renegade Arts Co presents the jukebox musical Rock of Ages.

Rock of Ages is the story of Drew and Sherrie – he a rock wannabe and she an aspiring film actor – who meet in the Bourbon Room on L.A.’s Sunset Strip. As the two fall in love, their big dreams are jeopardized as German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall.

Built around a seemingly endless cavalcade of 1980’s classic rock songs from the likes of Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, and Pat Benatar, Rock of Ages is an energetic tribute to an era where the “final countdown” never comes if only you “don’t stop believin'”.

Vancouver Presents contributing editor Mark Robins was live at Metro Theatre as the company got ready for opening night to find out more from director Chris Adams, choreographer Nicol Spinola, and members of the cast.

Rock of Ages plays Metro Theatre (1370 SW Marine Dr, Vancouver) through July 6. Visit metrotheatre.com for tickets and information.
