Summer has officially started and there is no better harbinger of the season than Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) taking up residence in Stanley Park.
This year, TUTS presents two dream-come-true tales with Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella and 42nd Street playing on alternating nights at Malkin Bowl.
“Last year, we welcomed more than 40,000 guests through our gates. We hope to draw even more musical-theatre fans in 2018 with a pair of outstanding productions led by two distinguished North American directors,” says Naveen Kapahi, TUTS board president.
In Cinderella, the rags-to-riches classic fairy tale gets a fresh life, and in the big and brassy 42nd Street, an aspiring theatre star gets her lucky break on Broadway.
Vancouver Presents’ contributing editor, Mark Robins, was at rehearsal in Malkin Bowl with members of the company of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella to find out more.
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella and 42nd Street play on alternating nights in Stanley Park’s Malkin Bowl, July 4 to August 18. Visit tuts.ca for tickets and information.
