Tomo Suru Players celebrate the romantic in all of us with About Love: Festival of Short Plays (Jun 13-18), a festival of eight new short plays directed by emerging artists. With each play just 10-minutes in length, think of it as theatre speed dating. And because we all love to judge love, audiences will also have an opportunity to choose their favourite play.
Nominated for the critic’s choice award for innovation in theatre for its production of Revolutions at this year’s Jessies, you can always expect the unexpected from Vancouver’s Fight With a Stick. Performed daily at low tide at Spanish Banks, Cinerama (Jun 15-30) is billed as an immersive experience of “live cinema with no story, plot or actors, on the shifting sands of the low tide flats”.
312 Minutes Max
12 Minutes Max (Jun 16) returns with a showcase of five short contemporary dance works by some of Vancouver’s up-and-coming choreographers: Jenn Edwards, Molly McDermott, Liliane Moussa, Monica Shah and Marissa Wong.
