Here are the three shows we are most excited about this week.

1Foreign Radical

Milton Lim in Theatre Conspiracy’s Foreign Radical

Theatre Conspiracy’s Foreign Radical (Feb 6-11) returns to Vancouver. The award-winning and critically acclaimed production made our theatre top ten list in 2015. An interactive, multimedia experience, this theatrical game explores security, profiling, freedom of expression, and privacy in the age of cyber-surveillance. With all that is happening south of the border it sounds very much like 2017.

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at UBC presents Manual Cinema’s Ada/Ava (Feb 7). The Chicago-based performance collective combines multimedia, projections, puppetry, and more in a gothic tale of twins.

3Ragtime: In Concert

Warren Kimmel, Marie West and Brandon Thornhill are among the cast of fifty in Ragtime

Fighting Chance Productions presents Ragtime (Feb 7-11). The Tony Award-winning musical consists of three distinctly American tales woven together. Set in New York City at the turn-of-the-century, it is a story of courage, compassion and belief in the promise of the future. Presented in concert format, there are no set and no costumes, but boasts a cast of over 50 and a 20 piece orchestra.
