Our picks this week: God is a Scottish Drag Queen, One Man Stranger Things & The Lonesome West

God is a Scottish Drag Queen

Award-winning comedian Mike Delamont puts on a dress once again for his cult hit God is a Scottish Drag Queen (Oct 26). Dressed in a floral power suit, Delamont skewers everything from circumcision, Scientology, and Adam & Eve to Justin Bieber and Star Wars in a buzz-worthy night of comedy. There is a reason it has been named “Best of the Fest” nineteen times.

One Man Stranger Things: A Parody

Just as Netflix releases the second season of its popular streaming series, One Man Stranger Things: A Parody (Oct 27) makes its world premiere. From the minds of Charles Ross and TJ Dawe, as the parody recreates and spoofs the first season it is a timely (and funny) reminder as we return to Hawkins, Indiana.

The Lonesome West

Your best bet of the crop of theatre playing right now comes from Vancouver’s newest indie theatre company with a fecking grand production of Martin McDonagh’s The Lonesome West (until Nov 11). As funny as it is dark, this trip to Leenane is worth it. You should take your brother.
