1Room 2048

Vancouver-based interdisciplinary group Hong Kong Exile presents Room 2048 (Apr 11-15). Exploring the socio-political realities of the Cantonese diaspora, its title refers to the year after China’s “One Country, Two Systems” declaration comes to an end. It is the year in which Hong Kong will no longer function as its own entity.

2How to be

Award-winning choreographer Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg brings together a group of Vancouver theatre and dance performers in How to Be (Apr 12-15) in an exploration of how we think we “should” be, how we feel others “should” be, and the beautiful failure of it all.

3The Train Driver

The Train Driver

What theatre critic David C Jones calls “one of the very best shows ever at United Players” and “brilliantly executed”, The Train Driver (until Apr 16) is Athol Fugard’s beautiful and haunting story of guilt, suffering, redemption in a post-Apartheid South Africa.
