Last of the Red Hot Lovers & Cats
Last of the Red Hot Lovers & Cats

We never thought we would ever find ourselves muttering the names Neil Simon and Andrew Lloyd Webber in the same breath. Our picks this week though find the two battling it out for Vancouver audiences. We recommend you check out both.

[dropcap]1[/dropcap]In Simon’s comedy Last of the Red Hot Lovers (until March 6), the cast of the Lovebird Artists Collective isn’t just hot, it’s caliente. While it may have been written almost fifty years ago, there is a vintage charm that gives way to a message that is surprisingly still resilient in our modern age of Ashley Madison and swiping right. Check out our review and then be sure to book your tickets to spend some time with Barney and this trio of women.

[dropcap]2[/dropcap] Lloyd Webber’s Cats (until March 12) may remain an enigma in the world of musical theatre, there is no denying the joyous mix of sight and sound from the current Fighting Chance Productions presentation. It’s no wonder our reviewer called it “about as purrfect as this show can be“. We understand that tickets are selling out quickly, and for good reason. Don’t be disappointed.
