Our picks this week: Wilderness, Christmas Queen 4 & The Shipment

Wilderness

We went behind-the-scenes a week ago with the director and members of the cast of Studio 58’s Wilderness (Nov 16-Dec 3) and we admit, were impressed by the sneak peek. A multi-media theatre piece, it is based on the real-life stories of six troubled teens kidnapped by desperate parents and sent to a remote wilderness therapy camp as a last resort.

Christmas Queen 4 – Secret Santa

Vancouver TheatreSports returns with another installment in its holiday season tradition with Christmas Queen 4 – Secret Santa (Nov 22-Dec 23). Taking audience suggestions, the improvisers  once again attempt to thwart The Christmas Queen’s attempts to ruin Christmas.

The Shipment

Vancouver’s SpeakEasy Theatre presents Young Jean Lee’s provocative play, The Shipment (Nov 22-Dec 2), where blackface is replaced by Black actors in a subversive exploration of Black identity.
