Vancouver Fringe Festival is “pushing the limits” in 2023

Set to get underway at venues on Granville Island and beyond from September 7-17, the 2023 Vancouver Fringe Festival presents more than 85 shows over its eleven days.

Set to get underway at venues on Granville Island and beyond from September 7-17, the Vancouver Fringe Festival will be “pushing the limits of performing arts” as it presents more than 85 shows over its eleven days.

From emerging local artists to talent from all across the Canadian Fringe circuit, this year will see more theatre, comedy, dance, drag, spoken word and music than ever before as Vancouver’s perennial performing arts fest gears up for its 40th anniversary in 2024.

Based once again at venues across Granville Island, this year’s Fringe will also go off Island at other Vancouver venues and a “robust online selection for audiences to watch anywhere, anytime from their own personal device.”

The Fringe Bar on Granville Island also returns, serving as a meeting ground for artists and audiences while offering nightly entertainment.

Kicking it all off on September 6 is the Festival’s inaugural Fringe4All, as artists step into the spotlight with a quick-fire preview of their upcoming productions.

“This year, our focus is on a renewed commitment to the outstanding artists who breathe life into our Festival,” says Vancouver Fringe’s executive director, Duncan-Watts Grant. “Our team has set our gaze on a dual mission [by] celebrating the amazing talent who continue to inspire us and rebuilding the foundations that support our artistic community.”
