Before The Curtain Goes Up: Rise

Rise plays at the Vancouver Playhouse on April 21 & 22.

Vancouver’s eatART Foundation (Energy Awareness Through Art) presents Rise, a theatrical circus-inspired play, at the Vancouver Playhouse on April 21 & 22.

eatART has spent the past 15 years supporting the creation of large-scale mechanical artworks and producing art exhibitions in Vancouver, with a focus on sustainable energy.

This debut event combines mechanical artwork with dance, music, and circus “to bring you an experience to transform your reality.”

After eons of silence, the way to the Fairy Realm has opened.  Take the leap and venture into dangerous realms of magic and mischief, faeries and spirits. And giant robots, of course. Step into a dark, fantastical world where your thoughts and feelings become reality, where your inner self and outer life struggle for dominance. In such a place, will you become a product of your obstacles? Will you hide away in your wildest fantasies? Or will you evolve and rise to the challenge of a new world before you?

In this edition of Before The Curtain Goes Up, Vancouver Presents contributor David C Jones speaks with members of the company of Rise to learn more.

eatART Foundation presents Rise at the Vancouver Playhouse (600 Hamilton Street, Vancouver) on April 21 & 22. Visit eatart.org for tickets and information.
