Before The Curtain Goes Up: Goblin:Macbeth

Goblin:Macbeth plays the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival in Vancouver's Vanier Park from August 19 to September 17.

The final production at this year’s Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival, Goblin:Macbeth takes to the Howard Family Stage in repertory with Henry V.

In Goblin:Macbeth, when a trio of goblins come across a copy of the Complete Works of William Shakespeare, they decide to co-opt a theatre space and cajole an audience into participating in their first attempt at “doing theatre.”

In this edition of Before The Curtain Goes Up, Vancouver Presents contributor David C. Jones speaks with co-creator Rebecca Northan to learn more.

The Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival presents Goblin:Macbeth from August 19 to September 17 as part of its 34th season in Vancouver’s Vanier Park. Visit bardonthebeach.org for tickets and information.
