From the company that brought us Hair, The Who’s Tommy, and Rent in recent years comes the Tony Award-winning Spring Awakening, a musical that follows a group of late nineteenth-century German students on their passage to adulthood.
Based on the 1891 German play of the same name, the musical stage adaptation by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater follows a group of late nineteenth-century German students on their passage to adulthood in an exploration of teenage self-discovery and coming-of-age anxiety.
Set to a pop-rock score, the story revolves around two young lovers, Melchior and Wendla, as they navigate the challenges of adolescence in a world where adults hold all the power.
