The Improv Centre (TIC) on Granville Island serves a quartet of Valentine’s Day-inspired shows as it celebrates the month of love.
With a number of shows that will excite singles, couples, throuples or those whose relationship status forever reads ‘it’s complicated’, there is something for everyone. – Jalen Saip
“February at The Improv Centre is sure to appeal to the romantic and unromantic in all of us,” says artistic director Jalen Saip. “With a number of shows that will excite singles, couples, throuples or those whose relationship status forever reads ‘it’s complicated’, there is something for everyone. Our Love Month programming will leave you laughing until your heart swells and your belly aches.”
In Single, Not Single, TIC performers explore the ups and downs of relationships or lack thereof. Whether coupled, throupled, or none of the above, organizers promise a “belly-aching, heart-breaking good time.” On stage Fridays & Saturdays from February 3-25.
On Thursdays from February 2-23, Date Night celebrates dating, relationships, and everything in between in a pay-what-you-can show that promises “a hilarious twist on your next date during a spicy night full of laughs, lust, and love.”
On February 14, three real-life couples will compete in Kiss & Tell, an improvised take on love, comedy, and finding someone special. “Like an IKEA trip taken too soon in the relationship, this could go sideways in a very funny way and will leave audience members gleefully wondering, how well do I really know my sweetheart?”
For those who are not fans of Valentine’s Day, TIC presents Happy Un-Valentine’s Day on February 15, exploring the fun of disliking this holiday.
